Overview
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to automatically add new advocates to your CRM software using Zapier, with Salesforce as an example. It covers prerequisites, setting up a webhook in Zapier, and configuring the action to create a contact in Salesforce.
Information
Before proceeding with the steps to integrate your advocacy hub with your CRM software, ensure you have the necessary Zapier account and understand the limitations of the free plan. The following steps will guide you through setting up a Zapier webhook and configuring the action to add new advocates to Salesforce.
Prerequisites
You will need to have a Zapier account to begin this process. The free Zapier account includes 5 "Zaps" and 300 "tasks" per month. If you expect to have more than 300 new advocates per month, you may need a premium account. The free plan only allows two-step Zaps, which will suffice for the setup below, but if you want to add additional steps or filters, you will need a paid account.
Setting Up the Zap
Follow these steps to create a Zap that will add new advocates to your CRM software whenever they join the hub.
Step 1
Go to Zapier, and click on Make a Zap!
Step 2
Choose Webhook for the 'App' and select Catch Hook for the 'trigger'. At this point, it should look like the image below:
