Influitive AdvocateHub Levels: “Required Badges” Can’t Be Set Until Badges Are Added

Overview

If you see messages like “I cannot edit” or “I cannot delete it” while configuring a Level in Influitive AdvocateHub—especially when trying to set the “number of required badges” (for example, 5)—this is expected behavior.

The “required badges” threshold cannot be configured until at least one badge has been added to the level. The level will remain hidden from advocates until badges are added and the required badge count is set.

Solution

Issue / Symptoms

When configuring Levels, the “required badges” (badge threshold) cannot be set for a level that has no badges added yet. This may be described as:

  • “I cannot edit”
  • “I cannot delete it, I tried.”
  • “I was able to change the name but not to include the number of required badges to reach the level.”

What’s happening (expected behavior)

  • A level’s required badge count becomes configurable only after at least one badge is added to that level.
  • The level remains not visible to advocates until both conditions are met:
    1. Badges have been added to the level
    2. The “number of required badges” has been set
  • This is expected product workflow and does not require an engineering fix.

How to configure the level (example: rename to “Supernova” and require 5 badges)

  1. Rename the level (if needed)
    • Open your hub’s level settings page (example): https://your_hub.domain.com/corporate/settings/levels
    • Edit the level name (e.g., change “New Level” to “Supernova”) and save.
  2. Add badges to the level
    • Open the target level.
    • Add the badges that should belong to that level (create new badges or add existing badges).
    • Save your changes.
  3. Set the required badge count
    • After badges are added, set the number of required badges (e.g., 5).
    • Save.

Important behavior clarification

  • Adding badges does not make the level visible by itself.
  • The level becomes visible only after you have both:
    • Added the badges, and
    • Set the required badge count

Validation / Confirmation steps

  1. Confirm the level now allows setting “required badges” after badges are added.
  2. Set the required count to the intended value (e.g., 5) and save.
  3. Verify visibility behaves as expected (the level stays hidden until both steps are completed).

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I know I’m hitting this specific issue?
If a level has no badges added yet and you cannot set the “number of required badges” (or the UI prompts you to add a badge first), you are seeing the expected workflow: add badges to the level before setting the required badge count.
2. If I add a badge before setting the required badge count, will advocates immediately reach the level?
No. The level will not be visible to advocates until you both (1) add badges and (2) set the required badge count.
3. Can I set the required badge count (e.g., 5) before adding any badges?
No. The required badge count cannot be configured until badges have been added to the level.
4. I can rename the level but still can’t set the required badge count—what should I check?
Verify that the level actually contains badges. Once at least one badge is added to the level, the “required badges” setting becomes available.
5. What if I added badges and still can’t set the required badge count?
Re-open the level configuration page and confirm the badges are saved as part of the level. If it still cannot be set, capture a screenshot of the level configuration view and contact support with the level name and your hub URL (use your standard support channel).
