What are Mandatory Hashtags and Why Use Them?
Mandatory Hashtags are hashtags that are required for posts and must be used by users. They serve various purposes, including compliance with regulations, unifying social campaigns, and branding.
Global Mandatory Hashtags vs. Mandatory Hashtags
There are two types of mandatory hashtags. Global mandatory hashtags are limited to one per instance, and the admin can choose to make this hashtag unchangeable during the post creation process.
On the other hand, mandatory hashtags can be modified during the post creation process. Admins have the option to add up to four mandatory hashtags at this stage.
How to Enable Mandatory Hashtags
PART 1: Enabling the Hashtag Instance-wide
In the admin panel, navigate to the Settings > Company tab:
You will be presented with a page similar to the one below:
Enter the Global Mandatory Hashtag. Remember that currently, only one can be registered.
You also have the option of enabling the Global Mandatory Hashtag by default and making it unchangeable in the post creation view.
PART 2: Enabling Mandatory Hashtags on a Post-by-Post Basis
Depending on the configuration of the option toggles above, you and your admins can enable or disable mandatory hashtags on a post-by-post basis.
As the admin, you have the option to add up to four mandatory hashtags or simply publish the post with the Global Mandatory Hashtag.
How do they work?
Once enabled, the users will see this messaging in their posts before sharing content as such:
As mentioned, this is mandatory - so users will not be able to remove this hashtag.
Once shared, the post will appear on social media similar to how posts would normally be depicted. Note: the hashtag will only appear at the end of the body of the message:
