What is PostBeyond's Password Policy?

Overview

PostBeyond enforces a stringent password policy to ensure the security of user accounts and organizational data. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include a mix of character types. The platform also limits consecutive failed login attempts to prevent brute-force attacks, with account lockouts implemented as a security measure. Users with older passwords are encouraged to update them to comply with the new standards.

Information

What is PostBeyond's Password Policy?

For security reasons, PostBeyond has strict requirements for passwords related to your account. This is meant to better protect your privacy, and that of everyone in your organization.

Password Requirements

Your PostBeyond password must meet certain minimum requirements. It should be at least 8 characters in length and include at least one character from each of the following four types:

  • Upper-Case Letters
  • Lower-Case Letters
  • Numbers
  • Special Characters (e.g., $ or %)

Some organizations may have additional password requirements. If you have any questions or concerns about these requirements, please contact your program manager.

Please note: Passwords created before May 8th, 2017 will be grandfathered in under the previous policy. However, any password changes made after this date must comply with the new policy.

Logging in

To enhance security and prevent unauthorized access through brute-force attacks, PostBeyond implements a limit on the number of consecutive failed login attempts. While this limit can vary for different customers, the default setting permits only five unsuccessful password entries. Exceeding this limit will result in the account being temporarily locked out of the platform for a specified duration.
