Unpublished Vs Expired

Overview

This article explains the differences between "Expired" and "Unpublished" statuses in the context of challenges or rewards within a content management system. It details how each status is applied and what it signifies for the visibility of the content to end users.

Information

Understanding the distinction between "Expired" and "Unpublished" is crucial for managing content effectively. Below is an explanation of each status.

Unpublished Status

The Not Published tag appears when a challenge or reward has been created but not yet made public. This tag is visible under the headline on the Challenge Editing page and on the Challenges tab. A challenge may also be marked as Not Published if an administrator manually unpublishes it. Unpublished challenges are not visible to advocates until they are published.

Expired Status

The Expired tag differs from Not Published. It is assigned when a challenge is made public using Publishing Options and has a set end date. The challenge will be unpublished at the specified time and date, and the Expired tag will indicate that the challenge was once active but is no longer due to the end of the publishing timeframe.
