Information

The "Reply to a Discussion Topic" stage is a feature that allows challenge creators to link directly to a discussion topic, awarding points to advocates upon their reply.

Important! It is only possible to award points for replying to a topic. There is no mechanism to award points for posting a new topic.

 

Selecting this stage type

You can select the Reply to a Discussion Topic stage type when creating a challenge, as shown in the image below.

Configuring the Stage

  1. Click the add stage icon.
  2. Choose the Reply to a Discussion Topic icon.
  3. Configure your stage with a description, points, etc.
  4. In the Topic URL field, enter the URL for the topic you want advocates to reply to.

The URL should look something like this: http://{{yourhub}}.influitive.com/forum/t/introduce-yourself/101

 

What is the experience for the advocate?

Advocates are directed to the configured Discussion topic upon clicking to complete the challenge. After posting a reply, points are awarded automatically. They will not be redirected back to the Challenges page but can navigate back or explore other Discussions.

Can points be awarded for posting a new topic?

No, the system only allows for points to be awarded for replies to an existing topic, not for creating new topics.

The Topic URL should follow the format: http://{{yourhub}}.influitive.com/forum/t/introduce-yourself/101
